For over 45Â years, the King Baudouin Foundation has been acting for the common good together with numerous partners, experts and donors. Our activities aim to foster sustainable and positive change in society, in Belgium, Europe and around the world.
Thanks to the support we give, we empower organisations and citizens working to create a better society. We encourage philanthropy and support individuals and businesses who want to commit to a better world.
The King Baudouin Foundation has at its disposal its own capital. Its independent governing bodies represent the pluralism of society.

The King Baudouin Foundation is an independent and pluralist public utility foundation, which has been working to improve society for over 40 years.
OUR MISSION
The King Baudouin Foundation’s mission is to contribute to building a better society in Belgium, Europe and elsewhere in the world.
The Foundation is an actor for change and innovation, serving the public interest and increasing social cohesion. We endeavour to maximise our impact through capacity building among organisations and people who contribute to building a better society. We encourage effective philanthropy among individuals and businesses in Belgium, Europe and around the world.
Our programmes are long-term and cover a number of fields:

The King Baudouin Foundation was created in 1976, to mark the 25th anniversary of King Baudouin’s reign. Her Majesty Queen Mathilde is the foundation’s current Honorary President.

WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
The Elisabeth & Amelie Fund supports sustainable water management in developing countries, among others by financing on-the-spot internships for students from developing countries who are studying in Belgium.
The Elisabeth & Amelie Fund takes into consideration an integrated approach to water management that includes technical and/or sociological aspects.
The internship will take place in a developing country (the student’s country of origin or another country). It will be tied to a master’s thesis or an equivalent and under the responsibility of the Belgian academic institution where the student is studying.
In practice:The grant will cover the expenses inherent to the internship, up to a maximum of € 5,000.
The internship, which should last 1 to 2 months, must take place between December 2023 and the end of August 2024. About ten grants shall be awarded.
