The Summit Is Born

At the beginning of the 2000’s, a group of spa and wellness industry leaders decided to create and fund a conference where experts and visionaries from all parts of the world would gather to solve shared problems. Thus, the Global Wellness Summit (GWS) was founded. Today the GWS is the foremost gathering of international leaders in the $4.5 trillion global wellness economy and is held annually.

Format

A variety of interactive sessions are on the Summit agenda. They include panel-led discussions, general sessions, small group breakout sessions, and hosted dining conversations. Efforts are made to ensure that all attendees participate at whatever level they choose: observer, panelist, contributor, questioner, or table host.  Standard business attire is recommended for all Summit sessions. For social events, delegates may dress in business casual.  Interpreters will be made available for groups upon request in the online registration questionnaire.

The Global Wellness Summit is an international organization that brings together leaders and visionaries to positively impact and shape the future of the global wellness industry. The objectives of the Summit are to:

Global Wellness Summit Agendas

Philanthropy

In 2015, the Ellis family and Global Wellness Summit co-founders established a separate entity, Global Wellness Institute ^TM (GWI), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational foundation whose mission is to empower wellness worldwide by educating the public and private sectors about preventative health and wellness. Through its five pillars, Research, Initiatives, Roundtable discussions, The Wellness Moonshot: A World Free of Preventable Disease and wellnessevidence.com, the GWI serves as a “hub” that informs and connects key stakeholders capable of impacting the overall wellbeing of our planet’s citizens.

The leading conference on the Business of Wellness

The Global Wellness Summit (GWS) is an annual four-day meeting where leaders from business, government, academia and science come together to shape the interconnected world of wellness.

A lightning rod for innovative thinking, ground-breaking research and powerful, productive networking, the Summit joins together the leading minds in the business of wellness and prevention across all eleven sectors of the multitrillion dollar wellness economy. Held in a different location each year, the GWS is the event where relationships are forged, investments are made, and business gets done.
The next Summit will take place in Qatar from November 6-9, 2023.
