Our goal is to achieve food security for all and make sure that people have regular access to enough high-quality food to lead active, healthy lives. With 195 members – 194 countries and the European Union, FAO works in over 130 countries worldwide.

Join us in creating a world without hunger and poverty.

FAO and the UN

FAO is a specialized agency of the United Nations. The UN system, also known unofficially as the ‘UN family’, is made up of the UN itself and a series of Programmes, Funds and Specialized Agencies, all with their own leadership and budget. The Specialized Agencies are independent international organizations funded by both voluntary and assessed contributions.
