Who we are

The ENRICH in Africa Project has brought together many of the key actors within the African and European innovation ecosystem to act as partners in the development of this exciting initiative.

WE CONNECT EU AND AFRICA INNOVATION ECOSYSTEMS

Funded by the European Union (Horizon 2020 programme), ENRICH in Africa is a project designed to bring together core stakeholders from both regions, in order to support and strengthen the European and African innovation ecosystem.

The ENRICH in Africa project will run from 2021 to 2023, focusing on three main phases. The first phase draws together the expertise of our core partners to develop and pilot activities that can demonstrate impact and value.

These activities will then be launched in the second phase of the project, when the services will be opened to the wider community.

Phase three will then build on this solid foundation of knowledge and services, to set up the ENRICH in Africa Centre which will be the sustainable outcome from the project.

The ENRICH in Africa project has launched the ENRICH in Africa Centre (EiA Centre), at this year’s Annual Congress held in Nairobi, Kenya, on the 25th of November 2022. The EiA Centre is a network connecting European and African innovation ecosystems as an outcome of the ENRICH in Africa project, an EU project funded under the Horizon 2020 programme. The ENRICH in Africa project is led by a consortium of ecosystem stakeholders and was designed to build a supportive network of incubators and accelerators from across both neighbouring continents, piloting services in a ‘by the community, for the community’ ethos, for the purpose of strengthening internationalisation and collaboration in innovation. Based in Cape Town, South Africa, the ENRICH in Africa Centre is centralised through an online digital platform, providing a digital meeting space for different innovation stakeholders, including incubators, accelerators, innovation facilitators, entrepreneurs, SMEs, and corporate investors.
